Abstract
Much of Indonesia's organic waste is poorly utilized. Bioconversion using Hermetia illucens is an effort that can be made to reduce organic waste by 56%. The bionebulization ability of the black army fly (Hermetia illucens) depends largely on the density of the larvae, the quality and quantity of waste that is used as the source of its feed. A higher density of the larvae than that of the density of feed will affect such growth as the larvae 'weight and body length. So the correct combination of these factors optimizes the bionebucens of the Hermetia illucens, counting the waste reduction index (wri), levels of ecd feed (ecd), weight, length, and survival rate of the larvae. The study was carried out from November 20, 2022 to January 20, 2023. Among the tools used in the research are writing tools, cutter, bucket, wire screen, containers of 1000 ml, board or tray, knives, ruler, meter sacs, plastic gloves, iron spoons, thermometer, analogical scales, and wipes. The ingredients used in this study are the tofu, the pug of fish, the rice husk, the Hermetia illucens larva, the bread waste, the sava vegetable waste, and the egg of the black army (Hermetia illucens). The study is experimental, using 12 treatments for variations in larvae density and kinds of organic waste each over 10 times repeated. The cultivation of the media for the black-army larva (Hermetia illucens) made of a mix of rice bran, tofu pulp, and pellet by 1:1:1. The media treat animals tested after seven days is made from tofu, stale bread, and cabbage. 120 grams each and included a different treatment dose of 100 larvae /cm3, 300 larvae /cm3, and 500 larvae /cm3 larvae of black army flies (Hermetia illucens) on a uniform size. The larvae maintenance takes up to 18 days. The measure of abiotic factors of temperature, pH, and media humidity with which animal treatment of the test is measured at the beginning of the study of the increase in weight and length of the larvae every 3 days. Variable observations on the waste reduction index (wri), oral feeds of ecd, and survival rate are made on the 18th day. Analysis shows the optimal percentage of organic waste reduction at 8.86% on the treatment of 500 larvae/cm3and the conversion rate of biomass conversion by 70.7% on 100 larvae /cm3 treatment. Based on the percentage obtained, the type of organic waste mixed with a density of 300 larvae /cm3 is more effective to produce an optimal percentage of garbage reduction and biomass conversion. Key words: bioconversion, Hermetia illucens, larva density, kind of garbage, organic waste reduction.
