Abstract

This thesis is motivated by the low awareness of the taxpayer in paying tax on land and buildings. It can be seen from taxpayers who are not well informed about the importance of paying tax on land and buildings, past the deadline for payment, economic factors, lack of education about land and building tax and constraints in SPPT division. The purpose of this study was to determine how the awareness of taxpayers in paying tax on land and building and efforts in raising awareness of the taxpayer in Kelurahan Karya Baru Kecamatan Alang-Alang Lebar Kota Palembang. This study uses qualitative descriptive method, whereas for data collection technique using the technique of in-depth interview, documentation and observation. The discussion is directed to find out the actual facts of how awareness of the taxpayer in paying taxes and efforts in raising awareness of the taxpayer exercised. These results indicate that the Public Awareness In Pay Property Tax in Kelurahan Karya Baru Kecamatan Alang-Alang Lebar Kota Palembang low width. That is because the factors that affect the taxpayer's own consciousness is still bad and effort in raising awareness of the taxpayer does not go well. Efforts to increase awareness of the taxpayer undertaken by the urban village implementation should be intensified so that taxpayers understand the importance of paying tax on land and building for the common welfare.
