Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the technical review of mobile rice milling machine and the effect of milling on the quality of rice produced on tidal land in Banyuasin Regency. The research was conducted in October 2018 until January 2019 in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research method used was the survey and descriptive methods with several stages of research, namely collecting data, processing, analyzing and interpreting data in the form of tables and graphs. The parameters observed included theoretical work capacity, effective capacity of milling machine, efficiency of milling machine performance, broken grain quality, grain water content, rice quality, and milling yield. The results showed that the performance test of the mobile rice milling machine with various rice varieties had a significant effect on the yield and quality of rice. The highest effective working capacity was Arias variety, which 620 kg / hour and the lowest was the Vietnamese variety which 363.38 kg / hour, the highest work efficiency was Arias variety 99.2% and the lowest was Vietnamese varieties which 58.14%. The highest grain cracks was Arias variety which had 11.3% and the lowest vietnam variety which had 4.6%. the highest grain water content was Inpari-1 variety which had 15.3% and the lowest was Superior variety which had 8.9%, the highest yield of milling in superior varieties was 73.20% and the lowest was Arias variety of 46.70%. The highest intact grains in Vietnam varieties was 42.70% and the lowest was IPB-3S variety 6.43%. The highest head rice was Tewe 27.20% and the lowest was IPB-3S variety of 9.10%. The highest broken points were IPB-3S variety 63.60% and the lowest is Vietnamese varieties 26.53%. The highest grains on the arias varieties were 26.50%, and the lowest was Vietnamese varieties of 9.96%.
