Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the elevation or altitude effects of flying drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) radars on images produced based on the best of detail quality and resolution on rice crops monitoring. This research was conducted in May 2019 to July 2019 at PT. Buyung (Beras Cap Topi Koki), Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research used descriptive method. This research was conducted with three different acquisition of elevation levels, namely 10 m, 20 m and 30 m. The research's data was presented by tables and graphs. The parameters in the research were air image scale, ground resolving distance (GRD) or effective spatial resolution and detailed image quality. The results of this study indicated that the smallest image scale was 30 m with a scale of 1: 3333 and the largest image scale was 10 m with a scale of 1: 1111. The best spatial resolution was produced at an altitude of 10 m which was 1.57 m. The image with the best detail quality was from a height of 10 m with a pixel size of 0.52 MP and a dimention of 120x120 pixel.
