Abstract

Risk is a part that can not be separated in human life. Every activity which is conducted, especially in an industry, both on the large scale and the small scale are basically can’t be separated from the risk of occupational hazards. This research was conducted to carry out a work safety risk assessment on aluminum craft workers in Tanjung Atap Village Tanjung Batu District Ogan Ilir District. This research uses qualitative research design, using Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for the risk identification process, and semi quantitative AS/NZS 4360:2004 risk assessment table for risk analysis and semi quantitative risk level for risk evaluation. The number of informants in this research are 6 people who work in aluminum craft in Tanjung Atap village. The results of the study indicate that the work of aluminum craft manufacturing consists of the cutting stage, development stage, the body building stage, the stem making stage, the finalization stage, the filter generation stage. The indentified risks based on the stage of work are struck down by aluminum slab, finger getting cut by scissors, step on fine aluminum flakes, scratched by aluminum, hearing disorders, hand injury due to being hit, pain and aches, finger pinched by the tools, hand being punctured by nail, crushed metal mold, aluminium scraped feet. The risk evaluation results in aluminum craft production has four levels which are priority 1, subsansial, priority 3, and acceptable. The action that needs to be done at priority 1 risk level is holding immediate improvement action, substansial risk level requires continous improvement, priority 3 risk level is doing continous control and at acceptable is reducing the work intensity. From the four levels of risk in aluminum craft, Tanjung Atap village needs to do preventive measure to minimalize the work accident.
