Abstract

The problem encountered in the provision of test insect is that difficult to reproduce host plants and the expensive costs. Test insect that are used that are easy cultured so that the needs of test insects can be fulfilled. Tenebrio molitor is easy to breed in the laboratory.The purpose of this study was to calculate mortality and LT50 insect test larvae due to the application of Beauveria bassiana and observed symptoms of Beauveria bassiana attack on test insects. This research was conducted at Entomology Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty of Sriwijaya University, starting from September 2017 until February 2018. The working of this study are some of the preparation of test insects, the manufacture of media and restoration of isolates of entomopathogenic fungi, and application of entomopathogenic fungi to test insects. This study used Randomized Block Design (RAL) using 26 isolates of B. bassiana fungi. The results of this study indicate that the tested insect fungus entomopatogen B. bassiana showed a change in behavior and color before death, and dead insects overgrown miselia fungus. The code isolate BTmSr has the highest percentage mortality of 70.67% with the lowest LT50 of 22,302 days.
