Abstract

The society with oral health problem generally less do dental treatment. The low value of dental treatment is affected by dental anxiety where caused by operator.The purpose of this study was to understand the overview of the difference of dental anxiety level in patients with permanent teeth extraction by dental co-assistant student and dentist in Rumah Sakit Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. The type of this study was observational analytical cross sectional method. The study was conducted to the patients with permanent teeth extraction by dental co-assistant student and dentist in Rumah Sakit Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan with a total of 100 patients. The study result showed that there was a difference siginificantly between dental anxiety and operator (p<0,005) so the hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant difference of dental anxiety level in patients with permanent teeth extraction by dental co-assistant student and dentist in Rumah Sakit Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan with average of dental anxiety level by dental coassistant student was 2,36 and dental anxiety level by dentist was 2,9.
