Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of treatment with kangaroo method on the convenience of infants aged 12 months - 24 months. Subjects used in this study were infants aged 12 months - 24 months consisting of 4 baby boys and 5 baby girls at posoka asoka Palembang. Treatment of kangaroo methods is the treatment of premature babies with skin contact between mother and baby. The giving of kangaroo method provides enormous benefits, with an easy method to support the health and optimal conditions of premature newborns to achieve conditions such as a fairly term infant. The research design used is one group pretest posttest design with sampling technique by consecutive sampling that is sampling based on its availability. The number of samples in this study as many as 9 respondents. Instrument of data collection using questionnaire of demographic data and observation sheet of infant waking status, using paired t test with significance level α = 0,05 and presented in frequency distribution form. Based on paired t test, p value (= 0,003 <(α = 0,05), meaning Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the provision of kangaroo method to the convenience of infants aged 12 months - 24 months at Posyandu Asoka Palembang.
