Abstract

The methyl mercaptan manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 55,000 tons / year was approved in 2024 in the city of Cilegon, Banten which is estimated to have an area of ​​5.5 hectares. The process of making methyl mercaptan in US Pat. 9,745,262 B2. The first reactor is a bubble column reactor type reactor. In the second reactor a fixed bed reactor with K2MoO4 / SiO2 catalyst is used. The first reactor was operated at a temperature of 250oC and a pressure of 14.8 atm while the second reactor was operated at a temperature of 350oC and a pressure of 14.8 atm. The plant will be established with a limited liability company (PT) with a Line and Staff organization system, which is led by a Director with a total company of 162 people. Based on the results of economic analysis, this methyl mercaptan plant is feasible to be provided because it has fulfilled various economic parameter requirements, which are as follows: • Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 59.514.232 • Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 278,111,393 • Total Sales = US$ 330,155,807 • Annual Cash Flow = US$ 41.029.456 • Pay Out Time = 1,315 tahun • Rate of Return = 61,214 % • Break Even Point = 35,231% • Servise Life = 11 tahun
