Abstract

Political party verification is the process of checking and assessing the fulfillment of the requirements of political parties as candidates for election contestants to be declared as election participants (full conditions). This study aims to identify and analyze the Implementation of the Supervision Strategy for the Verification Stages of Political Party Candidates for Election Contestants in the Bawaslu of South Sumatra Province. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods through data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation which are studied using Wheelen-Hunger's (2003) strategy theory with indicators of strategy implementation in the form of programs, budgets and procedures. The results showed that the supervision carried out by Bawaslu of South Sumatra Province had been carried out in accordance with Perbawaslu No. 6 of 2022, in which the South Sumatra Provincial Bawaslu found violations listed in PKPU No. 4 of 2022 and has been followed up in court in accordance with Perbawaslu No. 8 of 2018. However, the implementation of the strategy carried out by the South Sumatra Province Bawaslu has not been maximized. This can be seen with the availability of programs, budgets and procedures in the political party verification stage but there are obstacles in it, namely delays in budget disbursement which affect the process during the political party verification stage. Then the program run by the South Sumatra Province Bawaslu is still a program directed by the RI Bawaslu.
