Abstract

This study aims to look at adolescent perceptions of the sustainability of higher education in terms of external, internal and functional factors in Bedegung Village, Ogan Komering Ulu District. This type of research uses mixed methods. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total sample of 31 people. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that external factors which consisted of encouragement from outside and experience were classified as very low with a percentage of 36.82%, Internal factors which consisted of interest, expectations and attention were classified as very low with a percentage of 37.78%, and functional factors which consisted of needs and experiences are classified as very low with a percentage of 36.22%. Teenagers' perceptions of the sustainability of higher education in Bedegung Village, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, on average, are classified as very low, namely 36.94% of adolescents in Bedegung Village think that higher education is not too important so they prefer to work after graduating from high school than to continue their education.
