Abstract

Ogan Ilir is one of the regencies in South Sumatera, malnutrition in Ogan Ilir is also increased from 17 (in 2014) increased to 22 (2015). Cases of malnutrition is highest in Puskesmas Palemraya, these cases also increased from 1 (2013) toddler into 4 (2015) toddlers. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of variation of food consumption on nutritional status of children. This study usesstudydesign. cross-sectionalThe population in this study were all children who live in Puskesmas Palemraya at age 24-59 months. The sample in this study as many as 93 samples. The data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate withstatistical chi-squaretest. Based on the test results of the bivariate analysis there are two (2) independent variables related to the nutritional status of infants is family income [(ρ-value = 0.002) (PR = 6.789) (95% CI = 1.784 to 25.832)], variety [( ρ-value = 0.027) (PR = 4.000) (95% CI = 1.183 to 13.525) This study concluded that family income and food consumption variations related to the nutritional status of children. Efforts are suggested to improve the nutritional status of children in Puskesmas Palemraya among other things, the formation of advocacy groups regarding the provision of a varied diet to infants.
