Abstract

This study aims to find out the efforts made by Indonesia through the 2022 sports tourism event in increasing tourism and the country's economy after the covid-19 pandemic. In this study using Mark Leonard's public diplomacy concept theory with 3 dimensions, namely; news management, strategic communication, and relationship building to explain what efforts have been made by Indonesia in utilizing sport tourism events held in Indonesia as a forum for increasing tourism and the country's economy after the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is qualitative in the form of processing the data contained in the analysis unit explained into descriptive sentences, the data sources used are secondary data derived from journals, reports or information from official websites, data collection techniques the data used is through informant interviews and literature studies. The results of this study state that through this sport tourism event it can have a positive impact on increasing tourism and the country's economy which was initially down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
