Abstract

Irrigation water rcquircments as a whole necds to bc known because it is one important step that is rcquircd in the planning and management of irrigation systems. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of irrigation water in order to get the predietion value of the irrigation water requirement of maximum and minimum in the area of study in this area is Air Keban River Irrigation District Empat Lawang South Sumatra Provincc. For the irrigation area cxactly located in Babatan Rural District Lintang Kanan. The wide area is 1370 Ha. Sources of irrigation water comes from the Air Keban River. The faetors that determine the need for irrigation water is land preparation, consumptive use, percolation and seepage, tum the water layer and the effective rainfall. The calculation was done in two ways with by manual calculation (concept KP-01) and calculations using CROPWAT Software version 8.0. Irrigation water rcquirements started from beginning in November using paddy-paddy cropping pattero. From manual calculations (concept KP-01) obtained maximum irrigation water requiremenls is 2.54 mJ/sec whife CROPWAT\s 1.67 m3/sec. For a minimum on manually (concept KP-01) is 0.17 m3/sec while CROPWAT is 0.06 m /sec. Maximum demand (KP-01) occured in the middle of the first month beginning in May while CROPWAT occurcd in the last 10 days in April. For a minimum (KP-01) occured in the middle of the second month in March while CROPWAT occured the last 10 days in January.
