Abstract

In recent decades, modern games have shifted the prestige of traditional games due to inevitable modernization. This research aims to find out how changes in children's games from traditional to modern, to find out the forms of changes in children's games in Tanjung Raman Village, Pendopo District, Empat Lawang Regency, and to find out what forms of changes in children's games are identified in Tanjung Raman Village, Pendopo District, Empat Lawang Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitativemethod with primary data collection techniques (observation and interviews) and secondary data through literature study and visual documentation. The results of this study indicate that changes in children's games have indeed experienced fading but researchers still see children playing traditional games in elementary schools, this fulfills the perspective of Hubes and Moore where the dimensions in this theory are in the second dimensional change, namely the cultural dimension with an innovation approach followed by the interactional dimension with the approach of precedence, social distance, andinteraction because from the perspective of Hibes and Moore there are five dimensions of the dimensions above that are included in this study but there are several dimensions that are not included, namely the structural dimension and the dimension of changing rule patterns. patterns. From the results of this study, it is concluded that changes in children's games do occur from traditional to modern games, but in this case traditional games are still played by children during school breaks.
