Abstract

WINTI ENDANG SARI. The Corerelation of Body Measurement to Cement Qualiti of Ongole Bulls Cement. (Supervised by GATOT MUSLIM and APTRIANSYAH SUSANDA NURDIN). The quality of semen has an important role to the marital performance both naturally and artificial insemination. The good quality of semen is also influenced by the superior bull and capable to reproduce as well. The selection of bull is performed by measuring the body size is one of the factors that can be used as a measurement of superior bull. The purpose of this research is to learn thecorrelation of body dimension to the semen quality of ongole bull. This research was conducted in August to September 2017 in Balai Inseminasi Buatan Lembang, West Java. The analytical method used in this research was Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The observed parameters were semen volume, semenconcentration and semen motility. The results of this research indicates that the body length has a positive correlation to the semen volume and semen motility, body height has a positive correlation to the semen concentration and semen motility, the chest circumference has a positive correlation to the semen concentration. The conclusion of this research is that there is a correlation between body size and the semen quality of ongole bull with the coefficient of determination between chest circumference, body length and body height of 52,9%, 30,9% and 7,4% respectively.
