Abstract

The coal mining company (PT. X), which is located in Pengaron District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, has a mining area of ​​9,721 hectares. PT. X has six mine openings, three of which are submerged by water or have become mine ponds (void), the reason being there is no mining process in the three pits. This research was conducted in pit 3 (void) mining ponds, aimed at characterizing the mine pool so that it can carry out the drying process of the void pond. The characterization in this study is to look for the shape or profile of the mine pool (void), look for the dimensions and volume of the mine pool (void) using the m9 river surveyor using the acoustic doppler current profiler method. The results in this study are mine pool profiles (voids) in an oval shape with depths ranging from 1.5 meters to 40 meters. The volume of mine pools (void) is 2,286,837 m3. Pumps suitable for drying mine pools (void) are MULTIFLO CAT 3460 DITA, 375 HP with a drying time of 79 days or 1,896 hours.
