Abstract

Music is an universal language. Music can be accepled by all people, without knowing any distinction of race, class, religion, or age. Music then grew and developed into a promising industry. The dcvelopment of music can be seen from the proliferution of music school bothformal and informal, many events such as music conceris, or workshops that present the music as the main dish. Medan is one of the metropolitan cities in Indonesia, and became the center of activity in North Sumatra. Public enthusiasm for music is very big in Medan. It can be seen from the statistics enthusiasts of the arts in 2005. that the interest of the music is the highcst. Power e d by the great society interest in music makes a promising career opportunities of music in Medan. Career in music can be taken from the formal education such as schools of music. Music education is required to give a positive value in the development of music as a means of interest and high talenl. High school musical in Medan as a continuation of high school can become a place t o sharpen the ability of musical before the colleger ready to compete in a real industry.
