Abstract

Briquettes are an alternative energy that can be used as fuel substitute for petroleum and gas. Coal briquettes generally have a slow startup time. Therefore, this study modifies coal briquettes by adding a stimulant to the lighting of household waste fibers. The goal to be achieved in this research is to know the effect of pressure variation on time sulut. In this research, the briquetting process was carried out with pressure variations of 600 Psi, 700 Psi, 800 Psi, 900 Psi and 1000 Psi. The particle size of coal powder and household waste fiber used in this study is 60-200 mesh. The results showed that the fastest time of sulut obtained at 600 Psi pressure with a sulut time of 48.35 seconds. The conclusion obtained from the results of this study is the variation of pressure on the modification of coal briquette briquettes affect the time sulut.
