Abstract

The objective of the research was to study the effect of various rotational speed toward paddy drying rate on rotary dryer. This research was conducted at machinery workshop of agriculture agency of south sumatera province in October 2017. The method used on this research was experimental method. Data presented in graph and tabulation with 3 rpm, 5 rpm and 7 rpm rotational speed treatment with each treatment replicated three times. The result of research showed that 7 rpm rotational speed had the highest capacity of material was 4,35 kg/hour, the highest drying rate was 1,46% d.b/hour, and the highest drying efficiency was 32,95%. The fuel consumption at 3 rpm rotational speed was the highest of 0,317 liter/hour and at speed of 3 rpm had better grade and it was classified as 1 medium quality of class, SNI standart.
