Abstract

RIDHO ZILKA. Technical Test of Milling Rice Flour Using a Pin mill Machine (Supervised by HERSYAMSI and DANIEL SAPUTRA). The purpose of this study was to determine pin number and pin distance to pin mill performance. The research was conducted from February until March 2017 at Workshop and Laboratory of Farm Machinery, Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University. The research used a factorial randomized design (RALF) method with two treatments with three replications. The first factor was pin distance (eight mm, seven mm, and six mm). The second factor was the number of pins (three pin, and four pin). The parameters measured were the working capacity of the grinding device, the yield of milled and the percentage of fineness. The results showed that the number of pin and pin distance significantly affect the working capacity of the pin mill machine. Treatment (eight mm pin spacing and pin number four) shows the average value of the highest grinding yield was 96%.
