Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease is a structural or renal function abnormality for more than three months progressively. The prevalence of chronic kidney disease increases with the increasing number of elderly people and the incidence of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Treatment of high blood pressure is one of the basics of therapy to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease. This research aims to determine the pattern of antihypertensive drugs in cases of chronic kidney disease in the Inpatient Services of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methods: This research is a descriptive observational study, using secondary data from medical records. The sample are medical record of chronic kidney disease patient of inpatient services in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin period January- December 2017 that fulfilled inclusive and exclusive criterias by using simple random sampling technique. Results: In this study, there were 84 patients with chronic kidney disease who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. From the results of the study obtained the highest proportion at the age of 46-65 years (56%); male sex (56%); and many found anemia of chronic disease (38.3%) as a concomitant disease. Most antihypertensive drugs are used by giving two combinations (47.6%). Based on the rationality of drug administration, it was found that the administration of antihypertensive drugs had an indication accuracy (100%); drug accuracy (81%); accuracy of dosage (90.5%); the accuracy of the frequency of administration (94%); and the accuracy of patients (100%). Conclusions: Administration of antihypertensive drugs in cases of chronic kidney disease in the inpatient services of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin is fully rational.
