Abstract

Blasting at PT Bukit Asam Tbk follows the monthly blasting plan which has a blasting volume target. Several times the blasting volume target planning with the realization in the field did not match the desired results. The purpose of this research is to find out the unreachable factors and efforts that must be made to meet the target of blasting volume from the factors that cause unattainable blasting volumes. The study was conducted in the West Banko mining area. Realization for 2018 starting from November was 1,895,647 BCM for Pit 2 and 3,518,702 BCM for Pit 3. The target for blasting volume for each year in 2018 was 900,000 BCM with a realization of 492,213 BCM or 54.69% of the total. The percentage that can be said to be boulder or> 100 cm for Pit 3 is 7.24% and for Pit 2 is 3.45%, meaning that it still satisfies the fragmentation criteria that is good for both Pits using desktop 2.0 split software. The digging tool cycle time with an average time of 56.86 seconds and productivity of the digging tool was 911,057.68 BCM / month for Pit 2 and 89.93 seconds and productivity was 767,789.23 BCM / month. Factors affecting blasting volume targets are tool work efficiency, blasting geometry, rain and road conditions and lack of supervision. After the unreachable factors can be minimized by increasing work efficiency and supervision and rescheduling workdays if necessary so that the blasting volume target is 381,024 BCM / month for Pit 2 and 612,864 BCM / month for Pit 3 or can be achieved.
