Abstract
This research aims to see the effect of using audio-visual media on the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in early childhood at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Palembang. The type of research used was pre-experiment with a one shot case study design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, namely class B1 with a total of 16 children consisting of 8 boys and 8 girls whose abilities varied in recognizing the letters of the alphabet, ranging from poor, moderate and good abilities which were considered to be able to represent the population. The data collection technique uses observation, then the data will be analyzed using the normality test and T-test. The results of data analysis using the T-test were obtained with a t value of 6.60 and in the t distribution table with a significance of 0.05 and a degree of freedom (dk) of 15 so that a t table value of 1.75 was obtained. So the value of tcount 6.60 ≥ ttable 1.75 from the calculation results states that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of audio visual media on the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in early childhood at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Palembang.
