Abstract

Bearing an extremely important component in an engine component, which is where the form makes it easy to bearing performance, refine, and drown out all the performance of the performance of the machine where the movement occurred, ie the movement back and forth. Corrosion is a reaction between the metal compound with substances - around it, in the form of water with air, saline solution. Chemical formulation obtained by the Fe2O3.nH2O (metallic iron with water mixed with air), then a solution of acid / salt (H ₂ SO ₄ , HCl, NaCl, etc.). Among all the above substances compounds when exposed to the metal will corrode. In a scientific paper in the form of this paper the author examines and identifies one cause of damage to the bearings is to identify how influence the corrosion rate on the pad, then compared that have been corroded bearings when the added variable of lubricant. In scientific writing, the writer divides into four variations of the test with the second stage of the research is the condition of bearings are corroded during (5 days, 10 days, 15 days, 20 days.), And the condition of bearings are corroded by the addition of variable lubricant for (5 days , 10 days, 15 days, 20 days). The assay results from this penelitiaan seen the results of testing conducted in identifiers with the help of MATLAB program, bearing corroded detected 99.6% with the percentage of failure is not detected only 0.4%, in line with expectations in the author identifiers that have corroded bearings. Then the next stage of testing resulting in the percentage of test pads are corroded by the addition of lubricant variable detected> 50% corroded bearings decreased levels of vibration, friction and noise levels occur. It can be said that the influence of the lubricant with a viscosity of 20W-40 may dampen the level of damage to the bearings were corroded.
