Abstract
This study aims to describe students' critical reasoning ability in solving PISA-type math problems in the context of the Palembang People's Struggle Monument at SMPN 26 Palembang. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach and is carried out face-to-face, with the subject of the study being grade VIII.6 students of SMP Negeri 26 Palembang. Data collection techniques are carried out through student observation, written tests of critical reasoning skills and student interviews. In this study, 3 questions were used using the PISA framework with the tourist context of the Palembang People's Struggle Monument. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion that has been done, students have been able to identify important information from the problem well even though there are still students who have difficulty in determining the formula or solving strategy. There are several indicators, students can be achieved well, and there are also indicators that cannot be achieved well. However, overall this indicator can be said to be quite good or moderate, because the average student who is able to solve the problems they have obtained and make decisions correctly.
