Abstract

Self-Compacting Concrete is an innovation in the making of concrete which does not need to be vibrated when it is placed and compacted. This research used waste glass powder and silica fume as a partial substitution material of cement. There are twelve variations of glass powder and silica fume addition to the cement composition for this SCC. The variations for glass powder are 0%, 7.5%, 12.5%, and 17.5% and silica fume are 0%, 4%, and 8%. Slump Flow Test, V-Funnel Test, and L-Shape Box test are used in order to know the workability of the SCC. The workability of the concrete is decreasing as the more glass powder and more silica fume are used. The addition of glass powder for 7.5% accelerate the compressive strength up to 55.108 MPa, but it is decelerating the compressive strength if it is used in higher composition. The addition of silica fume gives optimum result in accelerating the compressive strength for 8% in the composition and it accelerate the strength up to 63.365 MPa. The substitution of cement by 7.5% of glass powder and 8% of silica fume produce the most optimum result in compressive strength which is 66.130 MPa.
