Abstract

Friesian Holstein is a dairy cow that has long been known in Indonesia and has a high milk production capability. Production and quality of dairy cows is influenced by internal factors and external factors. Udder circumference, age and lactation period are internal factors affecting milk yield and milk quality. The aim of this research was to study the relationship between udder circumference, age and lactation period to milk yield of friesian holstein dairy cattle. The research was conducted on September to October 2017 in Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak Baturraden, Central Java. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The parameter measured were milk yield. The result showed that 43.3% milk production data can be explained by udder circumference variable, age and lactation period, but coefficient on each different factor ( ) has different value. The conclusion of this research showed that udder circumference, age and lactation period had a relation to milk yield 43,3 %.
