Abstract

The study was aimed to compare the food consumption, nutritional status and reproduction knowledge adolescent girls at senior high school and pesantren. Subjects of this study were 60 students of senior high school and pesantren, Bangkinang, Riau.The study employed a cross sectional design. The result showed the parents time education of subject at senior high school was more higher than parents time education of subject at pesantren. There was not significantly different in economy level (family?s income per capita and pocket money)between subject at senior high school and pesantren (p>0.05). Food consumption and nutritional knowledge of subject at pesantren was better than subject at senior high school but there were not different between subject at senior high school and pesantren (p>0.05).Body Mass Indeks (BMI) in generally was normal(73.3 % at senior high school and 80 % at pesantren) and prevalence of anemia was high, with over 70 % anemic ( 100 % at senior high school and 73.3 % at pesantren ). There were significantly different between iron status of subject at senior high school and pesantren (p<0.05). Reproduction knowledge of subject at senior high school was better than subject at pesantren. Reproduction knowledge positive significant effect on time education of father (P<0.01) and family?s income per capita (P<0.05).
