Abstract

Background: University as an educational institution, not apart from potential accidents, illness caused by work and environmental impact. In addition to classroom teaching and learning activities, practical labs, studios and workshops, the university also has a non-academic support unit which is also at risk of causing accidents. Currently, the UI has begun implementing efforts to OSH but still partial, not yet thoroughly integrated with other management systems in the UI. Along with the development of education, diversity of activities, facilities and interested parties (stakeholders) on the UI campus environment should be developed and implemented an integrated risk management programs in the university management system to reduce the risk of accidents, diseases and damage caused by work environment in the UI. Method: The purpose of this study was to compare the risk management program at the UI with the NUS who have earlier applied this program has been accredited and internationally. This research is a qualitative research through the study of literature, data obtained through review of related documents. The analysis technique used in this study is the analysis of elements on the stage of the risk management process based on ANZS 4360:2004 namely: 1) The determination of risk context, 2) Risk Identification, 3) Risk Assessment (Analysis and Evaluation), 4) Risk Management, 5) Communication and Consultation, 6) Monitoring and Review Review, by comparing each element in the UI and the NUS. Results: The results of this study indicate that: 1) University of Indonesia has been doing risk management programs, although still limited to the risk assessment of environmental safety at the UI campus buildings, 2) UI has been implementing the steps of risk management processes, although not yet 100% compliant, 3) UI is formed a team for K3 and PLK-UI although not optimal in performing his duties. Conclussion: Therefore, the UI needs to: 1) expanding the scope of existing risk management practices, 2) Development of instruments to identify risk and 3) synergize resources and existing facilities to develop risk management programs in the future. Keywords: Risk Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Analysis and Evaluation, Risk Control, Communications and Consultation, Monitoring and Review.
