Abstract

In reducing the seismic forces that occur in a structure commonly used earthquake dampers. One earthquake dampers normally used is bracing. In this study used bracing types EBF (Eccentrically Braced Frames). This study using five models of steel building with 10 floors each model size of 18 m x 18 m and height of each floor is 4 m. The building serves as an office building in the city of Palembang. Steel building using two types of bracing EBF that are X with the vertical link with horizontal links. The results of the study obtained by horizontal bracing X link is the most effective bracing add stiffness and strength building. Xbracing with horizontal link on the model 5 can reduce the deviation of 57,71% and drift ratio of 72,38%. After pushover analyzing, obtained performance point best seen in model 5 which is able to withstand shear forces amounted to 441,67 ton and 176,27 mm displacement occurs. Five models of buildings performancelevel is secure stage called IO (Immediate Occupancy).
