Abstract

This study aims to determine the values of local wisdom contained in the marriage customs of the Mengulak Village, Madang Suku I District, East OKU Regency, the social situation is “the values of local wisdom in the marriage customs of the Mengering Village, Madang Suku I District, East OKU Regency” with details: Mengulak Village as the place studied, people who live in Mengulak Village as perpetrators, and community attitudes / habits in marriage customs that contain local wisdom values as the activity under study. The sample of this study uses a purposive non-probability sampling technique with the number of informants nine people. Validity test using credibility test, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. Data collection techniques using documentation, interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. From the data analysis results of documentation, interviews, and observations it can be seen that the values of local wisdom in the marriage customs of the Komering Tribe Mengulak Village, Madang Suku I District, East OKU Regency namely religious values, aesthetic values, social values, and economic values.
