Abstract

Multiphase flow is the flow consist of two or more phase, such liquid-solid, gas-solid or liquid-gas flow. Multiphase flow has phenomena complex, this is because have phases interaction, movement of phases, unbalance of phases and others. For determine mixture parameter used a parameter called hold-up. Parameter flow used in multiphase flow calculation is superfisial velocity in definition as magnitude velocity a phase to flow through whole of pipe section. The purposes of present research is to know and analyze characteristics of the air-water mixture flow eith variation of pipe inclination angels. Variation of pipe inclination angels used 100,50,00,-50,-100 with water and air as working fluid. Used 42 variation of superfisial velocity water and air in every pipe inclination angels. From this research obtained that In upward inclined pipe orientation flow pattern often get is plug bubble. Plug bubble obtained in variation of superfisial velocity 1,8 m/s – 3,65 m/s (water) dan 3,6 m/s – 6,71 m/s (air).in horizontal pipe orientation has 2 flow pattern often get is plug and plug bubble. Plug obtained in variation of superfisial velocity 1,52 m/s – 3,1 m/s (water) dan 2,38 m/s – 5,25 m/s (air).Plug bubble obtained in variation of superfisial velocity 1,86 m/s – 3,18 m/s (water) dan 3,85 m/s – 7,44 m/s (air). In downward inclined pipe orientation flow pattern often get is stratified with mixture interface with variation of superfisial velocity 2,24 m/s – 3,65 m/s (water) dan 3,34 m/s – 5,83 m/s (air).
