Abstract

Background: chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a clinical condition where renal function decrease exists, in a state that requires constant renal replacement, such as dialysis or renal transplant. Hemodialysis (HD) is a renal replacement therapy in chronic kidney disease. Life quality is a significant measurement in patients with renal replacement therapy. Patients’ life quality are constantly decreasing when on hemodialysis because of constant health problem from chronic kidney disease and lifelong therapy. Method: This is an analytic observasional cross sectional research. Sample of this research amounted 100 in RSMH. Data was gathered using questionnaire. Data was analyzed analysis and presented as frequency distribution table. Results: distribution of respondents based on genders are dominated by male (52 respondents, 52.0%), based on age are dominated by age group 41-60 years old (63 respondents, 63.0%), based on education are dominated by high school graduates (37 respondents, 37.0%), based on time since hemodialysis starts are dominated by those under 12 months (61 respondents, 61.0%), based on marital status are dominated by those who are married (95 respondents, 95.%), and based on jobs are dominated by those who are jobless (69 respondents, 69.0%). Chi-square analysis shows length of time since hemodialysis starts has no correlation with the quality of life of chronic kidney disease patients. Conclusion: no correlation exists time since hemodialysis starts with quality of life in chronic kidney disease patients.
