Abstract

Theobjective of the research is to know the role of religiosity towards altruism on volunteera of Walhi Sumsel. Research hypothesis is religiosity has a role on altruism. The research population is 80 volunteers Walhi Sumsel. The research is using nonprobability sampling in the form of consecuitve sampling. The scale of religiosity refers to dimensions of religiusity of Glock and Stark (Subandi,2016), whereas the scale of altruism refers to characteristic featurea of altruism from Cohen (Nashori,2011). Data analysis using simple regression. Regression analysis result shows value of R=0.529; F=30.373; and P=0.000 (p<0.05). This shows that religiosity has a significant role on altruism. Thecontribution of R square = 0.280which means the magnitude of the role religiosity hason influencing altruism is 28%. Therefore the hypothesis on this research is accepted, that there is a role of religiosity towards altruism on volunteers of Walhi Sumsel.
