Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the level of liquidity, leverage on profitability on food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2013-2017. Liquidity is proxied by Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, and Cash Ratio. Leverage is proxied by Debt to Asset Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio and Times Interest Earned Ratio. Profitability is proxied by Net Profit Margin. Samples were conducted using purposive sampling method and obtained 60 company samples. The analysis carried out was a quantitative approach with a panel data regression model, with random effects model estimates that were met through the hausmant test and the lagrange multiplier test assisted with the EVIEWS (Economic Views) computer program. The results showed that Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Cash Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio had no significant effect on Net Profit Margin, while Times Interest Earned Ratio had a significant effect on Net Profit Margin with a coefficient of determination of 8.88% and the remaining 91.12% is influenced by other variables. The implication of this research is that managers can consider the proportion of debt and for investors is useful as a consideration in investing.
