Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know different effect of feed probiotic storage time to survival rate, growth dan feed efficiency of snakehead fry (Channa striata). This research conducted on October until November 2015 in Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Department of Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in the research is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatments are different storage time probiotic on feed.The treatments were P0 (feed without the addition of probiotic), P1 (feed probiotic with storage time 10 minutes), P2 (feed probiotic with storage time 30 minutes), P3 (feed probiotic with storage time 60 minutes), P4 (feed probiotic with storage time 90 minutes). The observed data are survival rate, growth, feed efficiency, Lactobacillus sp. Population and water quality. The result showed that provision addition of probiotic in feed with differences storage time gives significant effect (P<0,05) to survival rate, growth and feed efficiency of snakehead fry (Channa striata). The treatment P4 probiotic feed with storage time 90 minutes to give the survival rate (93.33%), highest growth of weight (1.12 g), highest growth of length (0.99 cm), feed efficiency (32.65%), the end population of bacterial Lactobacillus sp in intestinal 1.537 x 107 CFU. ml-1 and feed 1.21 x 105 CFU. ml-1. mg-1. Water quality of rearing media were temperature range was 26-290C, pH was 5.5-6.2, dissolved oxygen was 5.15-6.14 mg.L-1 and ammonia was 0.041-0.085 mg.L-1.
