Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the dry matter digestibility (BK), organic matter (BO), crude protein (PK), and crude fiber (SK), in-vivo on several types of swamp forage on the buffalo field. This research was held on March to May 2018 in Kandang Sinar Rambutan Animal Husbandry Group, Rambutan Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency. Buffalo Pampangan is a germplasm of South Sumatra Province that needs to be preserved and developed, it’s because most of the efforts to develop buffalo trees that are carried out on smallholder farms are only used as traditional businesses by providing the same feed so that they have low productivity. In general, the food provided is field grass and swamp grass which, if viewed in terms of nutrient content, are still lacking to fulfill nutrient requirements for Pampangan buffalo. The types of forage swamps which are the main feed of Pampangan buffalo are copper grass, oil, rice and broad hole. The provision of various types of swamp forages shows that the best digestibility value is treated by forage copper with digestibility of dry matter 91.34%, organic matter 90.29%, crude protein 88.52%, and crude fiber 88.37%.
