Abstract

Closed channel flow is the flow whose surface is not directly related to outside air. Examples of closed channel flow occur in the flow of water in a pipe that fills the entire surface of the pipe. Application of water flow in the pipe is used in the need for clean water and irrigation. The flow of water in the pipe has a speed that is influenced by water pressure, from the speed of water flow that occurs resulting in a high shower. The physical showering model is used to determine the height of the shower that occurs, due to the loss of energy in the flow in the pipe using the energy equation (Bernoulli). This research was conducted by calculating the high yield of a shower in each shower pipe on the physical model of the shower. The results of calculating the height of the shower using the Bernoulli equation were compared with the results of calculating the height of the shower in the field. The results of research conducted in the field and the results of theoretical calculations found that the highest shower height occurs in the shower pipe closest to the water tank, and the lowest height of the shower occurs in the farthest shower pipe with a water tank. From this study it is known that the farther the distance of the shower pipe from the water tank, the higher the shower water produced the lower while the closer the shower pipe distance from the water tank, the higher the shower head, this is due to the distance between the shower pipe and water tank then the value of energy loss in the flow of water in the pipe is greater.
