Abstract

This study examines the "Role of Jasa Sampah online (JSO) in Managing Waste in the North Indralaya District of Ogan Ilir Regency". The purpose of this study was to determine the role of JSO in managing waste in the North Indralaya District. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method. The number of informants in this study were 12 informants. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses the concept of the roles of Biddle and Thomas. The results of this study found that JSO not only plays a role in managing waste but also plays a role in social activities empowering rural communities, educating the public by disseminating information about waste, providing scholarships to environmentalists and providing assistance to the community. Constraints faced in carrying out its role are technical constraints such as garbage transport vehicles and waste management machines, as well as constraints in time management.
