Abstract

Invivo test of ethyl acetate extract of endophytic Penicillium sp fungi kunyit putih (Curcuma zedoaria (Berg.) Roscoe) was tested as antidiarrhea against Shigella dysentriae and Salmonella typhii by experimenting white mice (Mus musculus L.). Using 6 groups animal test contain treatment I (normal group), II (negative control group), III (dose 125mg/kgBW), IV (dose 250mg/kgBW), V (dose 500mg/kgBW), and VI (positive control group). The testing was done based on number of Shigella dysentriae and Salmonella typhi in feces, feces taken once in 2 days. Data analysis by SPSS 23 method. The test result showed the increase of dose concentration decrease the number of bacteria for both Shigella dysentriae and Salmonella typhi in feses. Statistic analysis showed that dose variation significantly different to the number of bacteria and according to the relation between percentage of number bacteria decreasement and dose, ED50 of extract of endophytic Penicillium fungi kunyit putih was < 125 mg/kgBW for diarrhea agent bacteria S. dysentriae and 125 mg/kgBW for S. typhii.
