Abstract

Loading and unloading activities are heavy physical activities where the dominant activities are using workers so that all loading and unloading activities have the potential risk of experiencing muscle fatigue. This research is a quantitative study with cross sectional study design with sampling using simple random sampling so that 66 respondents were found to be in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection using the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) questionnaire. Analysis of research data using Paired Sample T-Test and Chi-Square Test. The research resulted that there were differences between fatigue before and after work and as many as 71,2% workers experienced moderate fatigue. Age (p-value=0,000), breakfast habits (p-value=0,000), and work period (p-value=0,000) had a significant relationship with work fatigue, while nutritional status (p-value=0.203), workload (p-value=0.140), hot work climate (p-value=0.362), and noise (p-value=0.880) have no relationship with work fatigue. The conclusion of this research were age, breakfast habits and work period related to work fatigue in the loading unloading workers. The port manager can maintain the crane machine and add the lubricant on the moving machine to minimize noise due to friction. Koperasi TKBM Palembang can socialize the importance of work nutrition and work fatigue, workers are advised to get used to having breakfast with the right time and menu and workers should use a hat when working to reduce exposure to the sun’s heat.
