Abstract

This research aims to find out truant behavior and the causes of students truant in Senior High School 19 Palembang. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research using survey methods. The population in this research were students in Senior High School 19 Palembang who were identified as truant in the even semester 2018/2019 with the frequency of the last month (5-10 times truant) totaling 52 students (source from attendance book). The sample in this researc amounted to 52 students selected with total sampling. Data collection technique used questionnaire include: truant behavior and truant causation factors. From the analysis of truant behavior data there were 63% of truant students categorized as high for not attending school for no apparent reason indicator. While for truant causative factors 35% of truant students are categorized as high for less interested in learning indicator.
