Abstract

Kuskus Pit is one of the pit is planned to be produced in 2016. The removal of overburden on Kuskus Pit is under the responsibility of the Department of Hatari PT. Kaltim Prima Coal. Production planning needs to be done over the life of the mine so that mining can be run effectively and efficiently. One method is to be examined to be applied in the Kuskus Pit is block modeling method using Microsoft Excel 2010 software. Block modeling method is a method that is widely used in geoscience software such as (Minex, Minescape, etc.). The expected result of this method is that it can be modeled quantity of overburden and coal reserves in each pit elevation range, for the next planned mining sequence to the analysis of the level of production that will be obtained from the planned sequence. Block modeling method is a method of modeling the reserve by dividing up into several parts in the form of the blocks are smaller. The one of aspects to be considered in the production planning, is stripping ratio values obtained at one time and the rate of revenue from the planned sequence. The more stable revenue rate, the better a mining plan. One of the most important aspects in determining the production plan is a break-even point is reached, that is the point where the value of expenses equal to the amount of income earned. Methods and steps being taken in this study consisted of a literature study, determining the formulation of the problem, field observation, data collection, analysis and processing of data and drawing conclusions. Data analysis and modeling in the form of estimated reserves in the form of block modeling, production planning, to plan analysis for income earned from a predetermined sequence. Modeling reserves in the form of block models, contour analysis performed by the three map data are topographical maps, maps pit design, and coal seam contour map. These data are then modeled into a block model of the form of tables and graphs the results of data analysis. Based on the planned sequence subsequent calculation of the production planning rate. Calculation of planned production level is done by calculating the aspects that affect costs in a mining pit, assuming the data unit cost of influence in the operations of a mining activity. Based on the reserves calculations by block modeling methode done then obtained the coal reserves in Kuskus Pit are 529.589 tons of coal and the amount of overburden that must be removed are 4.284.160 bcm and the value of stripping ratio are 8.1 bcm / ton. Plan income earned over the life of the mine amounted to $ 4.333.325,5 and the point of breakeven point is reached at week 29th when the cumulative value of stripping ratio is in the range of 12,7 to 12.3 bcm / ton.
