Abstract

The research has the objectives to compare the influence of inputs on oil palm productivity at wet land and dry lands South Sumatera. Four research location were chosen, namely Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Komering Ilir, Musi Rawas (Dry Lands), and Banyuasin (wet land). From each location, 30 sample farmers were selected, mailing total of 120 respondents. The research result showed that (1) Several production pal productivity factors such as seed, Urea fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, number of labor, and pesticide affected significantly oil palm productuvity at two land typologies, however there are differences in the influence level of the inputs, caused by the differences in land characteristics and fertile conditions, (2) Oil palm productivity at wet land plantation was more responsive in South Sumatera are prospective since their performance can be increased and improved. These require optimalization the inputs that significantly, influence oil palm productivity, among other thing through quidance and extension.
