Abstract

A study for calculating the direct solar irradiance using parameterization Iqbal model A without making measurements using pyrheliometer has been done.Parameterization Iqbal Model A1 can be used only on the conditions of visibility between 5 - 180 km (5 < Vis < 180 km) while the parameterization Iqbal model A2 can be used only the condition β < 0,5. The data on this study is pressure,temperature, dew point, and visibility measured at 03.00 UTC (10.00 WIB) during the mouth of January – December 2015 obtained from www.ogimet.com, with the point coordinates of the meteorological station of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II.the results of calculation show that the value of the direct solar irradiance at normal conditions ranged between 400 W/m2 – 600 W/m2 The highest average of direct solar irradiance occurred in April (579,361 W/m2 ) and the lowest occurred in Januari (483,064 W/m2 ). In September and October the value of direct solar irradiance (Ib) can’t being estimated with using parameterization Iqbal model A1 and A2. This is due to the condition of visibility and β not in aaccordance with a predetermined.
