Abstract

The main purpose of the protection system is to protect human safety from electric current and to protect electrical equipment from damage due to interference. In addition, disruption can also hinder the distribution of electrical energy from power plants to consumers. Therefore, to overcome the disruption that occurs, a protection devices with good coordination is needed, protection devices used in medium voltage feeders are over current relay and Ground Fault Relay. To built a good relay coordination, a correct current setting and a proper working time settings (TMS) are needed so that the relay can work properly. Therefore the author raised the issue of setting and coordinating the over current relay and the ground fault relay as a protection device 60 MVA transformer in Keramasan Palembang Substation. From the results of the calculation of overcurrent relay setting and ground fault relay with the data in the field still in the right condition (slight difference). TMS obtained from the results of the calculation of overcurrent relay on the 150 kV primary side power transformer is 0.304 SI, while the 20 kV secondary side transformer has a TMS of 0.1774 SI. For ground fault relay setting on a 150 kV primary side transformer obtained the TMS obtained is 0.42 SI, while the 20 kV secondary side transformer has a TMS of 0.246 SI. For overcurrent relay on natuna feeder and sulawesi feeder, it is set up with a TMS of 0.09 SI ; 0.064 SI respectively. And for the ground fault relay, TMS is set at 0.10098 SI; and 0,10098 SI respectively. Keywords : Protection System, Over Current Relay, Ground Fault Relay
