Abstract

Jengkol rind (Archidendron jiringa) contains flavonoids, tannins, phenolics, steroids, terpenoids that can accelerate the wound healing process. This study aims to determine the variation effect of ethanol extract of jengkol rind to the process of wound excision healing and determine optimum doses of ethanol extract of jengkol rind as the wound excision healing. Twenty five Sprague Dawley rats were used as experimental animal which were divided into 5 groups; control negative groups which were not administered anything, control positive group was treated with the Tekasol®, and test groups were treated with the extract of jengkol rind with doses of 250 mg/kgBB, 500 mg/kgBB, dan 1000 mg/kgBB. Excision wounds are made with a diameter ±0,8 cm on the dorsal section using the biopsy punch tool. Observation of wound healing and treatment were conducted during 20 days. Parameters observed included diameter of wound healing, percentage of wound healing and duration of wound healing. Wound diameter data were analyzed using an ANOVA test to see difference on a given day of observation. The results showed that the extract of jengkol rind with doses of 250 mg/kgBB had proven to accelerate wound healing as indicated by wound healing 100% arcived in rats in 13 days compared to the other groups. Statistical tests show that the extract of jengkol rind with doses of 250 mg/kgBB had a significant (p <0,05) difference to the control positif group (Tekasol®) on days 7^th and 〖10〗^th.
