Abstract

Daerah penelitian secara administratif terletak di Desa Andopan, Kabupaten Sijunjung, Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Sedangkan secara geologi daerah penelitian berada di bagian tenggara Cekungan Ombilin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keadaan geologi daerah penelitian yang mencakup geomorfologi, stratigrafi, dan struktur geologi serta ditambah dengan studi khusus yang membahas tentang kualitas batubara. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas tahap observasi lapangan, analisis laboratorium, dan sintesa data. Pada tahap observasi lapangan prosedur yang dilakukan, yaitu melakukan pengamatan bentuklahan, litologi, dan struktur geologi serta melakukan pemercontohan (sampling) terhadap litologi yang dijumpai di lapangan. Setelah itu pada tahap analisis laboratorium data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisa meliputi analisa petrografi, paleontologi, struktur geologi, dan geokimia batubara. Berdasarkan hasil analisa tersebut kemudian pada tahap sintesa data barulah direkonstruksi mengenai geologi daerah penelitian. Dari hasil kegiatan pemetaan yang telah dilakukan diperoleh satuan bentuklahan yang terdapat di daerah penelitian terdiri atas Perbukitan Bergelombang Terdenudasi (PBT), dan Perbukitan Tinggi Bergelombang Kuat (PTBK). Satuan stratigrafi terdiri dari Satuan Granodiorit yang berumur Kapur serta Formasi Sawahtambang berumur Oligosen Akhir yang terdiri dari Satuan Batupasir Sisispan Batubara, Satuan Batulempung, serta Satuan Batupasir Kuarsa. Sedangkan untuk struktur geologi yang dijumpai, yaitu berupa Antiklin Bukitkotogadang dengan arah kelurusan baratlaut-tenggara. Untuk lingkungan pengendapan daerah penelitian berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan berada di lingkungan fluvial tepatnya berada pada sistem sungai teranyam (braided river). Kata kunci : Cekungan Ombilin, Kualitas batubara, Formasi Sawahtambang, Intrusi ABSTRACT The research study administratively is located at Andopan Village, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatera Province. While geologically located at the southeast part of Ombilin Basin. The purpose of this study to identify the geological condition of research study like geomporphollogy, stratigraphy, structural geology, and special study about coal quality. The methods are used in this study consist of field observation, laboratory analysis, and data synthesis. At the field observation stage the procedure that done such as observe the landform, lithology, structural geology, and take the lithology samples from the field. After that at the laboratory analysis stage the samples that had been earned then analysed such as petrograpical analysis, paleontological analysis, structural geology analysis, and coal geochemical analysis. Based on the analysis result then at the data synthesis stage reconstructed about geology of research study. From the mapping acitivy result it was earned the landform units at research study consist of strong wavy high hills, and denudational wavy hills. The stratigraphy units consist of Cretaceous Granodiorit and Oligocene Sawahtambang Formation that consist of Sandstones with coal interbedded, Claystone, and Quartz Sandstone Unit. While for the structural geology that found is in the form of Bukitkotogadang Antiklin with northwest-southeast. For the depositional environment of research study based on the study result is located at fluvial environment specially at braided river system.
