Abstract

Background: Mother's knowledge of breastfeeding is the mother's knowledge of breast milk in sufficient quantities is the best food and can supply the nutritional needs of infants during the first six months and continued up to 2 years with MP-ASI . This research aim is to determine knowledge about breastfeeding in mothers who have a baby aged 0-6 months at Puskesmas Pembina Palembang Method: This research is a descriptive study and takes 65 mothers who have infant aged from 0 to 6 months as sample using consecutive sampling method. Collecting data is conducted by direct interview on respondent using questionnaire. Data is processed by frequency distribution table. Result: This reseach reveals that there are there are 36 people (55.4%) who have good knowledge while 29 people (44.6%) others have less knowledge in Puskesmas Pembina Plaju Palembang. Conclusion: Mothers with good knowledge 82% were <25 years old, 83,7% highly educated, 82,9% were in high income, 94,9% worked outside the home and 96% had children >2.
